Why "lostinjapan?"

Well, lostintranslation.net was taken, and lostinjapan.net actually seemed to more closely represent how I have felt over the past few years.

I came here as a break between college and graduate school or a "real job." At that point I was so uncertain about so much of my future. I didn't know which path I wanted my life to take. I was "lost" in other ways as well. It was my first time to live semi-independently, and I started off very close to one of the biggest cities in the world. In a sense I have been "lost" since I got here... mesmerized by and swallowed up in the sea of concrete, electronics and people that is Tokyo.

I still haven't completely made up my mind about what I will be doing next, but I don't think that is a bad thing since this experience has opened my mind up to so many possibilities.

This site is dedicated to Japan - the dream I cherished, the reality that I am learning to appreciate - and to anyone out there who, like me, ever pondered what the Land of the Rising Sun was really like.
